This is the classic pattern "Canadian Belt Knife" introduced in the 50's as the "Grohman / D.H. Russel knife that became legendary with hunters and trappers. Even being issued to the Canadian armed forces in the 70's.
The leaf shape of the blade and the angle of the handle lends it to being an incredibly comfortable knife in the hand while in use.
The back of the spine has approximately 1" of file work jimping to help when applying thumb pressure for heavy cutting.
This style is an outstanding design for the hunter, fisherman or for bushcrafting and general outdoor use.
Hand forged as always in my Vermont blacksmith shop. Made from high carbon 5160 steel. This steel in incredibly tough and takes and holds an outstanding edge.
The dark aged finished blade is 4" long x 1 5/16" deep at it's widest and 1/8" thick with a handle length of approximately 4 3/4" and an overall length of 8 3/4"
The handle is dark antique cherry wood with brass Loveless bolts and lanyard hole with leather lanyard.
The sheath is made from 9 oz leather that is double stitched with a full welt and copper saddle makers rivets at all critical stress points. Waterproofed, signed and dated.
This sheath also has a removable belt loop dangler for those that do not want a knife that rides high on their belt.
Distinctive forging marks are left to show these knives are handmade and have a natural aged appearance.
All of my knives come with a lifetime warranty. If there is ever a problem I will repair or replace it for free. This does not include abuse or neglect of the knife, or other use than what it is intended for.
