This is a variation of the classic Viking / Hunting knife forged entirely from a vintage high carbon horse shoe rasp. This steel is 1095 and is known for it's toughness and edge holding abilities.
Its' drop point blade works perfectly as a skinning / hunting knife, which this primitive style was originally intended for. However it also works for regular camp and bushcraft use as well.
The method of forging this type of knife is a labor intensive hammering down of the handle section to the right thickness and then wrapping it back toward the blade with a small scroll at the end.
This handle has a leather wrapping that is wet formed on the handle then saddle stitched together to form a very comfortable secure grip in the hand.
Approximately 10 3/4" over all length with a drop point 5" x 1 3/4" deep x 3/16" thick blade.
The blade is also acid etched to help prevent rusting and corrosion. Which gives it a dark aged appearance
The sheath is made from 8/9 oz leather that is double stitched, waterproofed, signed and dated. Copper saddle makers rivets at all the stress points along with a button stud strap closer instead of a snap.
All of my knives come with a lifetime warranty. If there is ever a problem I will repair or replace it for free. This does not include abuse or neglect of the knife, or other use than what it is intended for.
