This is a compact bushcraft / survival knife base on the Kephart style. It has a combination scout carry sheath which also has a... ***regular belt loop for vertical right hand carry****
Approximately 7 3/8" overall with a 3 1/4" blade that has 3" of cutting area... 1 1/4" deep x 5/32" thick.
The handle is American walnut with brass pins and lanyard hole with leather lanyard.
An extremely comfortable to carry knife in whichever way you choose to attach to your belt. The double loops allow the knife to be detached from your belt without removing it.
The knife handle strap has a quick release feature made from thin elastic shock cord that allows for a fast thumb release and keeps the strap from getting in the way of removing the knife or being cut by it.
There is a small gear pocket for keeping fire tinder or other survival items. A fero fire starting rod with the same American Walnut end is included and attached to the sheath and kept in place by another elastic shock cord.
Hand forged as always in my Vermont blacksmith shop. Made from 5160 high carbon steel. This steel in incredibly tough and takes and holds an outstanding edge.
The blade is also acid etched to help prevent rusting and corrosion. Which gives it a dark aged appearance.
The scout sheath is made from 9/10 oz leather that is double stitched with a full welt and copper saddle makers rivets at all critical stress points. Waterproofed, signed and dated.
Distinctive forging marks are left to show these knives are handmade and have a natural aged appearance.
All of my knives come with a lifetime warranty. If there is ever a problem I will repair or replace it for free. This does not include abuse or neglect of the knife, or other use than what it is intended for.
