This is an outstanding example of an old west 1800 era knife that would have fit perfectly in a gamblers outfit while sitting in a saloon ready if needed, in a moments notice.
This knife can be carried on your belt or used as a boot knife.
Appropriately made from a high carbon vintage horse shoe rasp with a double brass blade guard that is silver soldered to the blade. A distinctive dark aged worn finish adds to the vintage look of this stunning knife.
The handle is a special reserved piece of dark gunstock tiger maple with two leather spacers and a through brass pin.
Approximately 9 13/16" long with a tapered double sided and sharpened blade of 5 1/8" long x 1 3/16" deep x 3/16" thick at it's widest points. The handle is 4 5/8" long.
The 9 oz weight leather sheath has appropriate decorative stamping with a button stud fastener. Double stitched with a full welt and copper saddle makers rivets at all critical stress points. Waterproofed, signed and dated.
I hand forged these as always in my Vermont blacksmith shop. Made from a vintage 1095 high carbon horseshoe rasp. This steel in incredibly tough and takes and holds an outstanding edge.
All of my knives come with a lifetime warranty. If there is ever a problem I will repair or replace it for free. This does not include abuse or neglect of the knife, or other use than what it is intended for.
