This is a special version of my classic St. Lawrence Expedition knife. Having a larger blade and overall length along with a deep aged dark finish.
ANOTHER KNIFE IN MY "EXPEDITION SERIES" WHICH ARE INTENDED AND DESIGNED FOR EXTREME SURVIVAL AND DEFENSE SITUATIONS.
Meant to be the best all around outdoors knife that one would take into the wilderness and rely on completely for all needed tasks.
Heavy enough to chop and baton firewood and build shelters yet still having a blade shape to use for skinning and processing large game.
The small area just behind the cutting part of the blade that is not sharpened is intended for a higher grip on the handle for detailed controlled cutting.
The classic upswept blade is 7 1/2" long x 1 3/4" deep x just under 1/4" thick. The blade finish has a very pronounced aged appearance. Overall length is 13" The handle is in my Gunstock tiger maple with heavy duty fasteners and lanyard hole.
The design of the blade resembles a bolo knife shape being wider at the end and tapering back towards the handle. This shape adds considerably to it's cutting and chopping ability, drawing in the material and allowing for a much faster cut.
I hand forged these, as always in my Vermont blacksmith shop from 5160 high carbon steel which is known for it's outstanding toughness and edge holding ability. Yet still easy to sharpen when needed.
The sheath is made from 8/9 oz heavy weight veg tanned leather that is double stitched with a full welt, water proofed signed and dated. Copper saddle makers rivets at all stress points. Included is a removable dangler strap for those that like a knife to swing freely instead of being carried high on the belt.
Distinctive forging marks are left on the blade to show these knives are handmade and hand forged.
The blade is acid etched to help prevent rusting and corrosion. Which gives it a dark aged appearance
All of my knives come with a lifetime guarantee. If there is ever a problem I will repair or replace it for free. This does not include abuse or neglect of the knife, or other use than what is intended for which is cutting.
